Mississauga Scotiabank Celebrates Grand Reopening

Community and government leaders, as well as Scotiabank staff and guests were on hand to celebrate the grand reopening of the newly renovated Scotiabank in Mississauga located at Hwy 10 and Eglinton. The bigger branch has 19 staff and longer hours to better serve the needs of customers and the community. The April 9th festivities included a reception as well as a ribbon cutting-ceremony. Government Services Minister Harinder Takhar honoured Leadership in the South Asian community at a reception. Seen in the pictures are with Tigerjeet Singh and Tiger Ali Singh.

Over 500 people celebrated 25 years of the Can-Sikh Cultural Centre. The event was attended by various dignitaries.

Prime Minister Stephen Harper and Andrew Saxton, Member of Parliament for North Vancouver, congratulate the Canadian National High School Debating team on their recent victory over 57 other countries at the 22nd World Schools Debating Championship held in Doha, Qatar, marking the first time a Canadian team has won the title.
