Hyundai Motor Company has officially unveiled the production version of the upcoming Hyundai Ioniq 3, a compact all electric hatchback designed primarily for European markets. First previewed through the Concept 3 last year, the new model keeps much of its playful styling and aerodynamic profile while introducing practical technology features aimed at urban drivers seeking efficiency and versatility.

Despite growing interest in smaller electric vehicles globally, Hyundai confirmed there are currently no plans to launch the Ioniq 3 in the United States. Company representatives noted that the brand continues to evaluate market demand before expanding availability beyond Europe. The vehicle’s styling has drawn comparisons to a smaller version of the Genesis GV60, though the luxury division has not indicated any similar compact EV plans for its lineup.

Hyundai describes the Ioniq 3’s exterior approach as an Aero Hatch design philosophy that balances aerodynamic performance with interior usability. The vehicle is slightly taller than the mechanically related Kia EV4 and features a drag coefficient of 0.263. Standard equipment includes projector LED headlamps, signature pixel lighting elements, Highway Driving Assist 2, Remote Smart Parking Assist, and multiple external camera based driver visibility systems.

Inside the cabin, technology plays a central role. Drivers receive a standard 12.9 inch infotainment display with an optional 14.6 inch upgrade running Hyundai’s Pleos Connect interface based on Android Automotive OS. Additional practicality comes from a hidden under floor storage area called the Megabox, offering extra cargo flexibility in a compact footprint. The vehicle also supports vehicle to load, vehicle to home, and vehicle to grid charging capabilities.

Power comes from a front mounted electric motor paired with either a 42.2 kWh battery delivering up to 192 miles of WLTP range or a 61 kWh long range battery offering up to 280 miles. Output ranges between 133 and 145 horsepower depending on trim. While range figures fall slightly short of rivals such as the Nissan Leaf long range variants, Hyundai positions the Ioniq 3 as a stylish and efficient city focused EV that emphasizes usability and smart connectivity. Production is scheduled to begin in Turkey with European deliveries expected in late 2026 or early 2027.
