Kia has introduced the redesigned Kia Seltos, giving its popular compact SUV a more mature presence, expanded interior space, and a major upgrade in technology. The biggest headline is the arrival of hybrid versions later in the model cycle, marking the first time electrified power will be offered in the Seltos lineup.

The next-generation Seltos grows slightly in size, riding on a longer wheelbase and wider body that improves cabin comfort for passengers. Cargo capacity also increases both with seats up and folded down, helped by a new adjustable cargo floor and flexible mounting points designed for outdoor gear and daily practicality. Ground clearance improves as well, reaching up to 8.1 inches depending on trim level, reinforcing the SUV’s capability on rougher terrain.

Hybrid variants will arrive roughly six months after the gasoline-powered models launch. Kia plans to offer both front-wheel-drive hybrid and electric all-wheel-drive hybrid configurations. The expected system combines a 1.6-litre engine with electric motor support similar to the setup used in the Kia Niro, with an additional rear motor available on AWD versions for improved traction and performance.

Gasoline models continue with familiar engine choices, including a 2.0-litre four-cylinder and a stronger 1.6-litre turbocharged option reserved for higher trims such as X-Line. Updated all-wheel-drive software introduces selectable Snow, Sand, and Mud drive modes, enhancing confidence in changing road conditions. The X-Line trim also stands out visually with unique exterior accents and larger wheel options up to 19 inches.

Inside, the new Seltos adopts styling and technology inspired by larger SUVs like the Kia Telluride. A dual 12.3-inch digital display setup supports over-the-air updates and allows streaming services such as Disney+, Netflix, and YouTube while parked. Additional available features include a panoramic sunroof, surround-view monitoring, blind-spot camera display, and memory seating. Gas-powered versions are expected to reach dealerships in spring 2026 with pricing estimated between $28,000 and $35,000, while hybrid models are scheduled to follow later in the year.
