As Canadians prepare to vote in the upcoming federal election on April 28, over 90 community organizations, business coalitions, and advocacy groups from across the country have come together with one message: it’s time for a renewed and inclusive vision for immigration—one that unites, uplifts, and strengthens Canada for generations to come.

Immigration has been the cornerstone of Canada’s economic growth, cultural vibrancy, and international reputation as a welcoming nation. But that reputation—and the trust that supports it—is under pressure. Rising concerns about affordability, access to essential services, and a shifting global landscape have placed Canada’s immigration system under intense scrutiny.

Now more than ever, we need leadership that embraces the true potential of immigration. That means building a system that is fair, transparent, and responsive to the real challenges newcomers face. It requires attracting global talent, offering pathways to regularize the status of those already contributing to our communities, and ensuring access to housing, healthcare, and education so that every newcomer can succeed.

This vision also includes rejecting divisive rhetoric and reaffirming our humanitarian commitments. The success of immigration shouldn’t be measured solely in statistics—but in the lived experiences and long-term outcomes of individuals, families, and communities.
