Air Canada has announced the launch of a new non-stop service between Ottawa and London’s Heathrow Airport, set to begin on March 31, 2025. This new route will provide Ottawa travelers with direct access to London, marking the second overseas destination accessible directly from Canada’s capital.
The flights will be operated four times a week—on Mondays, Wednesdays, Thursdays, and Saturdays—using Air Canada’s Dreamliner fleet. This move is part of Air Canada’s broader strategy to expand its services out of Ottawa, following a rise in demand for international and business travel.
Ottawa Mayor Mark Sutcliffe welcomed the announcement, highlighting the economic and tourism benefits the new route will bring to the city. He emphasized that this restored flight service will make international travel more convenient for residents and boost local businesses.
This development follows Air France’s successful launch of non-stop Ottawa-Paris service in 2023, which has since expanded to daily flights. In addition to the new London route, Air Canada plans to significantly increase its overall services from Ottawa, including flights to various North American destinations.
