Another Authentic Butter Chicken Recipe: Creamy & Rich Indian Classic

Ingredients:

  • 1 lb chicken breast, cubed
  • 1 cup plain yogurt
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice
  • 1 tablespoon turmeric powder
  • 2 tablespoons garam masala
  • 2 tablespoons chili powder
  • 2 tablespoons oil
  • 2 large onions, finely chopped
  • 2 tomatoes, pureed
  • 1 tablespoon garlic paste
  • 1 tablespoon ginger paste
  • 1 cup cream
  • 4 tablespoons butter
  • Salt to taste
  • Fresh cilantro, chopped for garnish

Instructions:

  1. Marinate the chicken with yogurt, lemon juice, turmeric, 1 tablespoon garam masala, and 1 tablespoon chili powder for at least 1 hour, preferably overnight.
  2. Heat oil in a pan, add onions, and fry until golden brown. Add the garlic and ginger pastes, and sauté for a few minutes.
  3. Add the marinated chicken and cook until it’s mostly done.
  4. Add the tomato puree, remaining garam masala, and chili powder, and cook until oil separates.
  5. Stir in butter and cream, simmer for 10 minutes. Garnish with cilantro.
