Region of Peel, 30 June– Officers from the Homicide and Missing Persons Bureau have made an arrest in relation to a shooting in Brampton, that led to the death of a man.
On Sunday, June 5, 2022, at approximately 4:16 a.m., emergency services received a call for a shooting in the area of Advance Boulevard and Alfred Kuehne Boulevard in the City of Brampton. Upon arrival, officers located a man suffering from an apparent gunshot wound. The victim, 38-year-old Alberto Suman-Ossa from Maple, was transported to a trauma centre where he died as a result of his injuries.
On Wednesday, June 29, 2022, Sheldon McFarlane, a 40-year-old man from Toronto was arrested and charged with Second Degree Murder. He was held for a bail hearing and appeared at the Ontario Court of Justice in Brampton.
“Our service is committed to ensuring justice for those affected by gun violence. It has no place in our community and will not be tolerated. This was a complex investigation which achieved this outcome from an investigative team motivated by those values.” said Nick Milinovich, Deputy Chief of Investigative and Emergency Services.
