Arrest made in Firearm Discharge Investigation, Sherbourne Street and Dundas Street East, Image Released

The Toronto Police Service is making the public aware of an arrest made in a Firearm Investigation.
On Monday, February 9, 2026, at approximately 11:04 p.m., officers responded to a Sound of Gunshots call in the Sherbourne Street and Dundas Street East area.
It is alleged that:
the accused discharged a firearm in the air and fled the scene
no injuries were reported
The Toronto Police Service Gun & Gang Task Force – Centralized Shooting Response Team, along with 51 Division, launched an investigation.
As a result, on Wednesday, February 11, 2026, the accused was arrested.
It is further alleged that:
during the arrest, the accused was found to be in possession of a loaded firearm
An image of the seized firearm has been released.
William Clowes, 33, of Toronto, has been arrested and charged with:
Discharge Firearm Being Reckless as to the Life or Safety of Another Person
Possess Firearm other than Restricted or Prohibited Firearm Knowingly not Holding a Licence
two counts of Possess Loaded Regulated Firearm
six counts of Fail to Comply with Probation
two counts of Fail to Comply with Release Order
two counts Possess Firearm while Prohibited
three counts Possess Prohibited/Restricted Weapon or Prohibited Device Knowing no Authority
He was scheduled to appear in court at the Ontario Court of Justice, 2201 Finch Avenue West, on Thursday, February 12, 2025, at 10:00 a.m., in room 106.
