Region of Peel –Peel Regional Police have arrested and charged a person in regards to an armed robbery that occurred in Mississauga on May 11, 2022.
On May 11, 2022, at approximately 5:31 pm, it is alleged that four suspects wearing masks entered a jewelry store in the area of Erin Mills Parkway and Eglinton Avenue in the City of Mississauga. The suspects attended the store and after a brief conversation with the victims, one suspect brandished a handgun and ordered the victims to the ground. The suspects then smashed the display cases and removed a quantity of jewelry and Canadian currency. The suspects forced the two victims to turn over property and the suspects then fled in a vehicle. The victims did not sustain any physical injuries.
The suspects ran out of the store, three making good their escape. The fourth suspect was arrested shortly after the incident and was found to be in possession of a loaded firearm.
Harris Mohamed, 24 years of age from Toronto has been charged with Robbery with a Firearm, Wear Disguise with Intent, Use Firearm While in the Commission of an Offence, Point Firearm, Unauthorized Possession of a Firearm, Knowledge of Unauthorized Firearm, Possession of a Prohibited Firearm with Ammunition and Unauthorized Possession of a Prohibited Device or Ammunition. Harris Mohamed was held for a bail hearing and appeared before the Ontario Court of Justice in Brampton on Thursday, May 12, 2022.
Investigators are still looking for three suspects concerning this incident. They are described as;
- Male dark skin, 17-20 years old, thin build, 5’8”-5’10”, dark pants, dark hoody, dark mask
- Male dark skin, 17-20 years old, thin build, 5’8”-5’10”, dark hooded sweater, blue jeans, white mask
- Male light brown skin, 17-20 years old, thin build, 5’8”-5’10”, black track suit, blue surical mask
