The Toronto Police Service is making the public aware of two arrests made at a Demonstration.

On Thursday, February 26, 2026, at approximately 12:45 p.m., police attended a demonstration in the Wellington Street West and Simcoe Street area.

It is alleged that:

a group of individuals participated in a demonstration
a man was arrested for causing damage to a building at the demonstration
during the arrest of the man, a second man attempted to interfere with the arrest and assaulted two police officers

The following individuals were arrested:

Rong Cong, 20, of Toronto, was charged with:

Mischief – Damage property under $5000

He is scheduled to appear in court at the Ontario Court of Justice, 10 Armoury Street, on Monday, April 20, 2026, at 11 a.m., in room 203.

Syed Hussan, 41, of Toronto, was charged with:

Assault Peace Officer
Assault with Intent to Resist Arrest
Obstruct Peace Officer

He is scheduled to appear in court at the Ontario Court of Justice, 10 Armoury Street, on Wednesday, April 22, 2026, at 11 a.m., in room 203.
