At Rajpath during the Republic Day parade, people were stunned by a flypast witnessed by 75 aircraft and helicopters of the Indian Air Force.
There were aircraft like Rafale, Sukhoi, Jagdish, Mi-17, Sarang, Apache, Dakota, as well as vintage aircraft like Rahat, Meghna, Eklavya, Trishul, Tiranga, Vijay and Amrit as well as modern aircraft like Rafale, Sukhoi, Jaguar and Mi-17.
Rajpath in the national capital was a scene of precision at great speeds and thundering aerobatics performed with professionalism.
As part of its flypast over the water channel north of Rajpath, the Rahat formation of five LHA flew five ‘Arrowhead’ formations.
It consisted of five CH-47 Chinooks in front and four Mi-17 1Vs behind. They flew in a formation called ‘Arrowhead’.
Five Arrowhead formations comprised of two Mi-35s and four Apache helicopters flew together in the Eklavya formation.
Vic’s formation consisted of four Tangails led by a Dakota and two Dorniers in echelon.
In the Vic formation, the Traan formation consisted of one C17 and two C130A.
Within the echelon of the Netra formation, there would be two MiG 29 UPGs and two Su-30 MKIs following the Traan formation.
Following the formation of Netra, the Vinaash formation of five Rafale planes flew in Arrowhead formation.
The following formations consisted of seven Arrowhead formations including a Rafale, two Jaguars, two MiG-29s and a Su-30.
