LAS VEGAS: The Cultural Association of Bengal (CAB) and North American Bengali Conference (NABC) will host 50th CAB Anniversary (52 years of CAB) and 42nd Banga Sammelan in Las Vegas from July 1 to 3 this year.
After two years of virtual celebrations, this gigantic event is coming back live and on-site. Convener Milan Awon is extremely passionate and hopeful about this year’s event as he recently commented, “It gives me great pride in announcing that we are the only ethnic organization in North America able to host this mammoth convention uninterrupted for 42 years and garner eight to ten thousand attendees. This convention is for you and about you.”
CAB President Chitta Saha said, “CAB is proud to continue the Bengali cultural efforts in North America for more than 50 years. I am very much looking forward to grand success in NABC 2022. .”
Banga Sammelan is not limited to art and culture alone; there is a variety of opportunities to share, contribute and learn. Between the grand opening ceremony on July 1 and mesmerizing closing ceremony on July 3, there are hundreds of items that will certainly touch everyone’s hearts.
Art & craft exhibitions, multiple seminars, film festivals, vocal and instrumental music, theater, fashion show, competitions for general participants as well as youths are just a few to name.
With renowned artists and talents from India (Mumbai and Kolkata), Bangladesh and North America, such as Amit Kumar, Jeet Ganguly, Pt. Ronu Majumdar (Flute), Pt. Tarun Bhattacharya (Santoor), this will be a unique opportunity for all to gather and have a wonderful weekend.
Many of the singers will perform on specific themes. There will Tribute to Salil Chowdhury & Hemanta Mukherjee by singers like Arnab Chakraborty (K for Kishore), Sanjeevani Bhelandhe and others; Tribute to SD Burman & RD Burman by Javed Ali, Ankita Bhattacharya (SaReGaMaPa) and others; Prabin O Nabin by Kartik Das Baul and Tirtha Bhattacharya.
