In a decisive move reflecting the prevailing national sentiment, the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has announced the suspension of the TATA IPL 2025 for one week, effective immediately.

The decision follows escalating tensions at the India-Pakistan border and comes after careful deliberations with key stakeholders, including franchise representatives, players, broadcasters, sponsors, and fans.

According to a statement released by the IPL Governing Council, the suspension was deemed necessary to prioritize the safety and collective interest of all involved, especially in light of the ongoing Operation Sindoor led by India’s armed forces in response to the recent terror attacks and cross-border hostilities.

Their willingness to prioritize the national interest has been deeply appreciated by the Board.

The BCCI confirmed that the revised IPL 2025 schedule and venues will be announced after a comprehensive assessment of the evolving situation, conducted in close coordination with relevant authorities and stakeholders.
