April 17, 2025 – A bold new beer is tapping into the roots of Canadian heritage and conservation. GoodLot Farmstead Brewing, in collaboration with Credit Valley Conservation Foundation and Wilder Climate Solutions, is proud to introduce Tree Hug, a beer crafted from the sap of Canada’s national tree, the sugar maple. Proceeds from this unique brew will support the acquisition of ecologically significant land, ensuring its protection in perpetuity in the neighbouring communities of the Credit River Watershed. Tree Hug is a celebration of Canada’s natural abundance, brewed with Canadian cereal grains, Ontario hops and pure maple sap in place of water, resulting in a deeply complex and uniquely Canadian flavor.
Inspired by traditional brewing techniques in a solar-powered brewery, this beer embodies a commitment to both the land and the communities that depend on it.

The collaboration between GoodLot Farmstead Brewery, Credit Valley Conservation Foundation, and Wilder Climate Solutions ensures that each can of Tree Hug directly supports the acquisition and protection of vital greenspaces. These lands will be protected indefinitely, contributing to biodiversity, climate resilience, and the well-being of local communities. Tree Hug will be released on Earth Day for a limited time at GoodLot Farmstead Brewing and can be enjoyed at some of Canada’s finest restaurants: Down Home (Markdale), The Pine (Creemore), The Gate (Flesherton), Pearl Morrissette (Jordan Station) and Antler (Toronto).
