The 2025 Met Gala is set to dazzle once again, and this year, Bollywood’s brightest stars are bringing their signature glamour to the iconic red carpet. With the theme “Superfine: Tailoring Black Style,” the event honors the enduring influence of Black dandyism and the evolution of tailored menswear through history. Attendees are encouraged to showcase personal interpretations of refined tailoring, drawing inspiration from zoot suits, Congolese sapeurs, and other menswear styles rooted in Black culture.
Leading the Indian contingent is Bollywood legend Shah Rukh Khan, who is expected to appear in a custom ensemble by celebrated designer Sabyasachi. Global icon Priyanka Chopra-Jonas will mark her fifth Met Gala appearance, this time wearing a striking outfit from Balmain, complemented by jewelry from Bulgari.
Making her much-anticipated debut at the Met is actress and soon-to-be mother Kiara Advani, who will be draped in a dramatic Gaurav Gupta creation. Punjabi music sensation and actor Diljit Dosanjh is also stepping onto the Met carpet for the first time, dressed by designer Prabal Gurung.
Adding to the South Asian presence at the gala are fashion-forward personalities like Isha Ambani, daughter of business magnate Mukesh Ambani, style icon Natasha Poonawalla, and entrepreneur and philanthropist Mona Patel.
This year’s Met Gala is co-chaired by cultural leaders including Colman Domingo, Lewis Hamilton, A$AP Rocky, Pharrell Williams, and the ever-iconic Anna Wintour. Basketball legend LeBron James joins the event as an honorary chair, symbolizing the gala’s broader message of diversity, legacy, and the celebration of Black excellence in fashion.
