Peel Regional Police say a 19 year old man from Brampton is facing multiple serious charges, including attempted murder, following a violent carjacking in which two victims were shot earlier this week. Investigators confirmed that one suspect has been arrested while another remains outstanding as the search continues.

Police reported that the incident took place shortly before noon on April 6 near Central Park Drive and Glenvale Boulevard, west of Torbram Road. According to investigators, two suspects approached a vehicle occupied by two individuals and attempted to steal it. During the confrontation, both victims were shot but managed to escape the scene in their vehicle.

Authorities said one victim suffered injuries that are not considered life threatening, while the second victim remains in hospital in critical condition. Emergency responders transported both individuals for treatment as officers began searching for the suspects involved.

Following a foot pursuit, officers arrested Naesean Okoko and recovered a loaded illegal firearm that police said was capable of automatic fire. Okoko has been charged with nine offences, including attempted murder, and remains in custody pending a bail hearing. The allegations have not yet been tested in court.

Investigators continue to look for a second suspect connected to the case and are asking anyone with information to contact police as the investigation remains ongoing.
