Items At The Feast Are Symbolic Of Five Elements Of The Universe; There Will Also Be Dance And Music
Toronto: Canadian Newa Guthi’s Women’s Committee is organizing “Newah Traditional Feast ” on August 27, 2022. A recent outdoor meeting held at Sunnybrook Park made meticulous discussion on the event and made strategic planning for the its grand success.
Newah feast is very popular and traditional among Newah ethnic people in Nepal during festivals and rituals.
The feast, which is a perfect combination of balanced diet consisting of carb, protein, vitamins and many more, resonates scientific reasons for being healthy feast, which often called scientific feast.
Moreover, some items of the feast are symbolic of five elements of the universe. Basically, the guests sit crosslegged on the floor and dished are served to the guest’s place by servers and the plates are no other than stitched leaves, reflecting environmental sustainability.
Besides the scrumptious delicacies, Guthi is also presenting the some of its cultural heritag, including dance, music and a festive ambience – which are performed in major festivals of Newah people in Nepal.
The main objective of the event is to promote and preserve Newah food, culture among Nepali and non-Nepali people and help strengthen the Diversity Mosaic of Canada.
Guthi has recently formed a women’s committee under the convenorship of Ms. Ranjana Sainju to help support Guthi’s activities along with creating plata form for women members. The event will be the first its kind in Canada.
