Free Programming at Yonge-Dundas Square Julian Sleath, the general manager of Yonge-Dundas Square, announces a weekend full of free programming. “We have an amazing lineup of buskers from across Toronto and southern Ontario, and sets of giant games for everyone to play,” he says. With no admission fee and easy access via TTC, it’s an ideal spot for family fun.
Get Littlized at Little Canada Adjacent to Yonge-Dundas Square, Little Canada offers a special Father’s Day experience. Founder Jean Louis Brenninkmeijer invites fathers and sons to get “littlized” at the Littlization Station, creating a 3D figurine of themselves for the miniature world. “Little Canada is a unique experience telling the story of Canada through the art of miniature,” says Brenninkmeijer. “Father’s Day allows visitors to come in, hear, see, and share those stories.”
Taste of Little Italy For those interested in Italian culture, College Street hosts the annual Taste of Little Italy festival. “We’ve been putting on Taste of Little Italy for over 20 years and this year is one of the best yet,” says Connie Mastrangelo, chair of the Little Italy BIA and co-owner of Cafe Diplomatico. Enjoy Italian music, food, and Euro Cup games all weekend.
Ribfest at Woodbine Park In the east end, Ribfest takes over Woodbine Park, offering delicious BBQ just a short walk from the beach.
