Chole Bhature Feast: Dive Into This Classic Indian Combo!

Ingredients (for Chole):

  • 2 cups chickpeas (soaked overnight)
  • 1 medium onion (chopped)
  • 2 tomatoes (pureed)
  • 1 tbsp ginger-garlic paste
  • 1 tsp turmeric powder
  • 2 tsp chole masala
  • 1 tsp red chili powder
  • Salt to taste
  • 2 tbsp oil
  • Fresh coriander for garnish

Ingredients (for Bhature):

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup yogurt
  • 1 tsp baking powder
  • Water as needed
  • Oil for frying

Instructions:

  1. Pressure cook soaked chickpeas until soft. Set aside.
  2. Heat oil in a pan, sauté onions, ginger-garlic paste, and tomato puree until oil separates.
  3. Add turmeric, chili powder, chole masala, and salt. Stir in cooked chickpeas and simmer for 10 minutes.
  4. For bhature, knead flour, yogurt, baking powder, and water into a soft dough. Rest for 1 hour.
  5. Roll out dough and deep fry in hot oil until golden. Serve with chole.
