The Mississauga is now accepting applications for its 2026 Live Music Grant program, offering financial assistance to strengthen the city’s growing music scene. The funding initiative is aimed at supporting for profit concert presenters, venues and musicians who host live performances within the community.
According to the city, the grant is intended to help offset eligible costs associated with organizing live music events that are safe, inclusive and accessible. Both new and established for profit organizers can apply, including independent musicians, bars, restaurants, performance venues and production companies operating in Mississauga.
To meet eligibility requirements, events must take place within city limits and feature at least 50 per cent Mississauga based musicians. The program is designed to stimulate the local music economy by generating income for artists and venues while expanding opportunities for live entertainment across the city.
City officials say the grant plays a key role in creating more performance spaces and encouraging collaboration among local creatives. By prioritizing homegrown talent, the initiative aims to showcase Mississauga artists while attracting audiences to community based events.
To help prospective applicants navigate the process, two virtual information sessions have been scheduled. The first webinar will be held on March 12 from noon to 1 p.m., followed by a second session on March 23 from 6 to 7 p.m. Interested applicants are encouraged to attend one of the sessions before submitting their proposals.
