Their sister Daniya Dhillon is also a Black Belt and a successful competitor in the sport at the international level
Danvir and Balvir Dhillon are 13 year old twin brothers that are bringing all the attention to Taekwondo. These star athletes were born in North York, Ontario and will be attending the Sci-Tech and IBT Program in the upcoming school year. The brothers started Taekwondo when they were just six years old alongside their older sister.
Their sister Daniya Dhillon is also a Black Belt and a successful competitor in the sport at the international level, bringing home a Silver Medal for Canada in the Open Taekwondo World Championships. Daniya was placed as one of the top 3 Ontario Scholars with 97.6 % graduating average in 12th grade. Right now she is studying in Canada’s top business school, Schulich School of Business pursuing Finance.
Earlier this year the twin brothers secured 1st place at the Canadian Taekwondo Nationals making the twins National Champions in their respective weight classes (Danvir +65 kg and Balvir -65 kg) under the training of Grand Master Sung and their Coach Sung Min Son who happens to be the National coach too.
By making it to the Canadian National Team this meant that the boys got a shot at competing in the PAN-AMERICAN and World TAEKWONDO CHAMPIONSHIPS.
- The twins both fought hard fights to Team USA, Mexico, Peru etc.
- BALVIR SINGH DHILLON brought home a GOLD MEDAL defeating USA’s National Champion in his final
- DANVIR SINGH DHILLON brought home a SILVER MEDAL beating the USA’s National Champion in semifinals and then falling short 2 points in his final bout against PERU.
Balvir Dhillon won the Gold Medal in the -65kg Middle-Heavy Male cadet category, and Danvir Dhillon won the Silver medal for Canada in the +65kg Heavyweight Male Cadet category
The Twins echo the same sentiment – they say “Our future goal is to compete in the YOG Youth Olympic Games for Taekwondo in 2022 Dakar, Senegal”.
The siblings themselves never shy away from giving back in the community by giving back through donating and even giving back $800 of necessities to their local youth!
