DATE ANNOUNCED FOR THE INQUEST INTO THE DEATH OF PERCY ADAM HENRY

Ministry of the Solicitor GeneralDr. Kevin Miller, Regional Supervising Coroner, Northwest Region, Thunder Bay
office, announced today that a date has been scheduled for the inquest into the
death of Percy Adam Henry. The inquest will begin at 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday,
June 10, 2026. Etienne Esquega will be the presiding officer. Peter Napier and
Jenna Simpson will be the inquest counsel.

Mr. Henry, 27 years old, died on February 8, 2021, at Lake of the Woods District
Hospital after being transferred from the Kenora Jail. Mr. Henry was a member of
Wabaseemoong Independent Nations and also had ties to Naotkamegwanning First
Nation.

The inquest will examine the circumstances surrounding Mr. Henry’s death. The
jury may make recommendations aimed at preventing further deaths.

The inquest is expected to last eight days and hear from approximately 14
witnesses.
