Investigators with the York Regional Police #4 District Criminal Investigations Bureau have laid charges and seized a quantity of drugs in an ongoing trafficking investigation.
In the late summer of 2021, police began an investigation into drug trafficking in the City of Richmond Hill. Through the investigation, officers identified a suspect.
On September 19, 2021, officers responded to a report of a robbery outside of the suspect’s residence on Yonge Street in Richmond Hill. Officers located the victim, who had visible injuries. Officers learned that the victim was assaulted with a weapon and was robbed. Officers believe the robbery occurred during a drug purchase involving the same suspect connected to the trafficking investigation.
On September 30, 2021, a search warrant was executed at the suspect’s residence and he was taken into custody. Officers seized a replica firearm, approximately 500 Zanax pills, 10 grams of cocaine, one gram of methamphetamine, a quantity of cannabis, knives, a baton and approximately $2,000 cash.
