The family of Celeste Rivas says they are experiencing profound emotional distress following the public release of the autopsy report detailing the circumstances surrounding her death. Through their legal representative, relatives described the findings as deeply disturbing and said they are asking for privacy and understanding as they continue to cope with the loss.

According to the family’s statement, Celeste’s parents, Jesus and Mercedes Rivas Hernandez, will not attend an upcoming court hearing involving D4vd, who has been charged in connection with her death. The decision reflects the emotional toll the case has taken on the family as the legal process continues.

Officials confirmed that the Los Angeles County Medical Examiner had completed its determination regarding the cause and manner of death as early as December 9. However, the results were not made public at the time because investigators from the Los Angeles Police Department requested a court-ordered security hold while the case remained active.

Los Angeles County Medical Examiner Dr. Odey Ukpo later addressed the delay in releasing the report, describing it as difficult for the family to endure such a long wait for official answers. He emphasized that transparency in death investigations is essential both for accountability and for helping communities better understand the factors behind violent incidents.

The medical examiner’s report ultimately concluded that Celeste Rivas died as a result of homicide caused by multiple penetrating injuries from unspecified object or objects. Authorities arrested D4vd last week, and he now faces a formal murder charge as the case proceeds through the court system.
