Genesis is inching closer to unveiling its most luxurious electric vehicle to date, the GV90, and recent sightings of the SUV with reduced camouflage are offering a clearer view of the brand’s future flagship. Spotted testing with significantly less cover at the Nürburgring, the GV90 is already turning heads with its elegant silhouette and bold design cues drawn from the Neolun concept.

First introduced last year, the Neolun concept was inspired by traditional Korean moon-shaped porcelain jars and was described by Genesis as a symbol of timeless design and refined craftsmanship. The production version of the GV90 looks to carry forward much of that minimalist aesthetic, combining sophistication with cutting-edge innovation. Creative officer Luc Donckerwolke dubbed it “the ultra-luxe vision of luxury SUVs.”

A standout feature of the GV90 is its coach-style doors, which may appear on high-end trims of the production model. Genesis has indicated that B-pillarless coach doors are now feasible for production, raising expectations for a truly distinctive offering in the luxury EV segment. Recent test sightings confirm the continued presence of these doors, maintaining one of the concept’s most talked-about details.

Beyond its appearance, the GV90 will serve as a technological flagship for Genesis. It’s set to include Hyundai Motor’s most advanced in-car systems, including a striking 24.6-inch infotainment display. The vehicle will also mark the debut of Hyundai’s new eM platform, which will eventually replace the current E-GMP architecture used in Genesis, Kia, and Hyundai electric vehicles.

Production of the GV90 was originally scheduled for later this year at Hyundai’s Ulsan plant in South Korea. However, according to The Korea Economic Daily, the timeline has been pushed, with manufacturing now expected to begin in June 2026. Pricing is yet to be finalized, but initial estimates suggest a starting price of around 100 million won (approximately $80,000 USD), with top-tier trims potentially exceeding 200 million won ($160,000 USD).

With its ultra-luxe design, cutting-edge tech, and concept-inspired details, the Genesis GV90 is shaping up to be a serious contender in the premium electric SUV market.
