Ingredients:
- 1/4 cup basmati rice
- 1 liter full-fat milk
- 1/2 cup sugar (adjust to taste)
- 1/4 tsp cardamom powder
- 10-12 cashews and almonds (chopped)
- 8-10 raisins
- A few saffron strands (optional)
Instructions:
- Wash rice and soak for 20 minutes. Drain.
- Boil milk in a heavy-bottomed pan, then add rice and simmer on low heat.
- Stir frequently to prevent sticking, cooking until rice is soft and the milk thickens.
- Add sugar, cardamom powder, and saffron (if using). Mix well and cook for another 5 minutes.
- Garnish with nuts and raisins. Serve warm or chilled as a dessert.
