On February 26, 2026, investigators from the Homicide and Missing Persons Unit provided an update on the June 7, 2025 homicide of 15-year-old Jahkai Jack, announcing that two men had been arrested and that 20-year-old Abdul Yeberebaba was wanted for second-degree murder.

On Friday, February 27, 2026, Abdul Yeberebaba was arrested by the Calgary Police Service.
Abdul Yeberebaba has been returned to Toronto and is charged with:
Second Degree Murder
He is scheduled to appear in court at the Toronto Regional Bail Centre, 2201 Finch Avenue West, on Friday, March 6, 2026, at 9:30 a.m., in room 301.
