A new advanced manufacturing facility has officially opened in Brampton, bringing 170 jobs and strengthening the city’s growing industrial sector. According to a report by Ryan Rumbolt, Socomec Canada opened its new 148,000 square foot facility at 201 Westcreek Boulevard with a ribbon cutting ceremony.
The new site is Socomec Canada’s third facility in Brampton. The company manufactures high efficiency transformers and power distribution units used in data centres, hospitals, and other major facilities that require reliable energy systems. With the latest expansion, Socomec now employs about 500 workers in Brampton.
The City of Brampton said the facility will help reinforce the city’s reputation as a destination for advanced manufacturing and engineering driven businesses. The company’s products are also expected to support energy efficiency by helping reduce energy waste in large scale facilities.
Brampton Mayor Patrick Brown said Socomec’s growth supports local job creation, strengthens the supply chain, and contributes to a more resilient economy. The company was also recognized during Brampton’s 2026 State of the City address as one of 10 businesses honoured for significant expansion and economic contribution.
Socomec’s other Brampton locations are at 8985 Airport Road and 5 Parkshore Drive. The latest opening adds to Brampton’s expanding role in Ontario’s manufacturing, energy, and infrastructure sectors.
