The International Cricket Council (ICC) has officially announced the schedule for the 2025 Women’s Cricket World Cup, set to take place from September 30 to November 2 across India and Sri Lanka. This 13th edition of the prestigious tournament will feature eight teams competing in a round-robin format across five cities: Bengaluru, Vizag, Indore, Guwahati, and Colombo.
The tournament will begin with a high-stakes opener between India and Sri Lanka in Bengaluru, while defending champions Australia will launch their campaign against New Zealand in Indore on October 1. Each team will play seven matches, with the top four advancing to the semi-finals. One semi-final will be played in Bengaluru, with the other to be hosted either in Colombo or Guwahati. The final match is scheduled for November 2, with the venue to be either Bengaluru or Colombo.
Ahead of the tournament, teams will take part in two warm-up games each. Host nation India is set to face England on September 24 in Bengaluru and South Africa on September 27 in Guwahati. These warm-ups will serve as key preparation for the competitive round-robin stage.
Australia, England, New Zealand, South Africa, Sri Lanka, and India secured automatic qualification based on their standings in the ICC Women’s Championship. Pakistan and Bangladesh completed the lineup by earning their spots through the qualifying tournament held earlier this year.
The 2025 Women’s World Cup promises to be a historic event, showcasing the continued growth of women’s cricket on a global stage and building on the momentum of previous editions.
