Poland’s Iga Swiatek delivered a masterclass performance at the 2025 Wimbledon Championships, crushing American Amanda Anisimova 6-0, 6-0 in just 57 minutes to win her first Wimbledon crown and sixth Grand Slam title overall.

Swiatek, the tournament’s eighth seed and a former world No. 1, dominated from the opening point on Centre Court, not dropping a single game in what became the most one-sided women’s final at Wimbledon in 114 years. The 24-year-old becomes only the second player in the Open era to win a Grand Slam final without conceding a game, a feat last achieved by Steffi Graf at the 1988 French Open.

In scorching conditions, Anisimova, the 13th seed, came into the final riding high after upsetting world No. 1 Aryna Sabalenka in the semifinals. But any hopes of a repeat performance quickly unraveled as she was broken in the opening game and overwhelmed by Swiatek’s relentless pace and precision. The American won just six points on serve and committed 14 unforced errors in the opening set alone.

Despite support from the Centre Court crowd, Anisimova was unable to mount a comeback, double-faulting repeatedly and struggling to keep up with Swiatek’s intensity. The Polish star sealed the match with a commanding service game, celebrating her milestone moment with poise before comforting her distraught opponent.

Swiatek is now the eighth consecutive first-time women’s champion at Wimbledon, continuing a trend that began after Serena Williams won her last title at the All England Club in 2016. With this dominant performance, Swiatek not only adds a grass-court major to her growing collection but also cements her legacy as one of the most formidable players of her generation.
