Israel’s military says it carried out a major overnight assault on what it described as Iran’s leadership complex in central Tehran, as the conflict between Israel, the United States and Iran entered its fourth day. The Israeli Air Force said roughly 100 fighter jets dropped more than 250 bombs on facilities that included Iran’s presidential bureau, the headquarters of the Supreme National Security Council, and additional compounds used for high level military and strategic meetings.
According to the Israeli military, the strikes were aimed at degrading Iran’s command structure and reducing its ability to coordinate missile and drone attacks. Later Tuesday, Israel said it launched additional airstrikes in western Iran targeting ballistic missile launchers, air defense systems and drone infrastructure. Iranian authorities have not released detailed assessments of damage at the targeted leadership facilities.
Iran responded with fresh waves of ballistic missiles and drones aimed at Israel and several Gulf states. In central Israel, submunitions from cluster style warheads struck multiple locations, wounding 12 people. Emergency medical services said most injuries were caused by blast waves and flying debris. Since the conflict escalated, 11 people have been killed in Israel due to missile attacks.
The fighting has also spread beyond Israel. Iranian drones reportedly struck the United States embassy compound in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, causing fire damage, according to Saudi officials. The Saudi government condemned the attack and said additional drones were intercepted over the capital and other cities. In the United Arab Emirates, debris from intercepted drones sparked a fire at an oil facility in Fujairah, while authorities said hundreds of missiles and drones have been launched toward the country since the weekend. Explosions were also reported in Qatar and Bahrain as Iranian forces announced strikes on US military installations in the Gulf region.
Satellite imagery has shown new damage at the Natanz nuclear facility in Isfahan province. The International Atomic Energy Agency confirmed partial damage to entrance buildings at the underground fuel enrichment plant, while stating that no radiological consequences are expected and that the main enrichment facility, previously damaged during earlier fighting, has not suffered additional impact. Iranian officials accused Israel and the United States of targeting the site again, though neither country publicly confirmed striking it in this latest round.
Iran’s foreign ministry has warned European countries against participating in the US Israeli campaign, saying such involvement would be considered an act of war. Meanwhile, reports indicate the United Kingdom may deploy a naval vessel to help protect its base in Cyprus following drone threats, and France is reportedly reinforcing defensive systems on the island.
The Iranian Red Crescent says more than 780 people have been killed nationwide in strikes since the conflict intensified, though independent verification remains limited. As missile exchanges continue across multiple fronts, diplomatic efforts appear stalled, and regional governments are bracing for further escalation in what has become one of the most volatile confrontations in recent Middle East history.
