From heights ranging from 12,000 to 17,500 feet, the Indo-Tibetan Border Police (ITBP) celebrated the 73rd Republic Day, 2022, on Wednesday.
In places such as Ladakh, Himachal Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Sikkim, and Arunachal Pradesh where temperatures are minus (-) 45 degrees Celcius, the ITBP jawans unfurled the national flag in the presence of the Himveers.
At the last village in Uttarakhand, Mana, as well as in the border areas of Ladakh and Kumaon in Uttarakhand, jawans hoisted the national flag.
During the Republic Day Parade, in New Delhi, the Army’s ‘Daredevil’ bikers created ten different formations on the Rajpath. For the first time, the Indian Army’s ‘Daredevil’ bikers displayed a wide variety of formations. One of them was the Lotus Formation, a Border Man’s Salute, Fly Riding, Pawan Chakki, a Six-Man Balance, the Arrow, the Jaguar, the Sentinels of the Himalaya
Since 1962, the Indian Border Police Force has been securing the 3,488,800 km of border between India and China. The terrain and weather conditions of mountainous regions present numerous challenges, and the brave jawans remain vigilant at the Himalayan borderlines 24 hours a day.
ITBP is a mountain training force whose staff includes professional mountain climbers. The force is referred to as the Sentinels of the Himalayas owing to the fact that it guards the nation’s highest borders.
As ‘First Responders’ in disasters in the Himalayan region over the years, the Himalayan border guarding force has conducted hundreds of rescue operations.
