BRAMPTON: Federal minister for Seniors, Kamal Khera who is MP for Brampton West, Minister for Housing and Diversity & Inclusion Ahmed Hassan, Mayor Patrick Brown and hundreds of people joined in the Navratri celebrations organized by the Hindu community in Brampton.
Ahmed Hussen said: “ This weekend, I celebrated #Navratri with the Hindu community in Brampton! We commemorated the occasion with a live dance performance and other festivities. To all those celebrating, happy #Navratri

Navratri is a period of nine days celebrating the Divine Feminine and is happening from 26 Sep to 4 Oct in 2022. Godess Durga, Godess Lakshmi and Godess Saraswati are seen as three dimensions of the feminine.
The legend associated with Navratri speaks about the great battle that took place between the powerful demon Mahishasura and Goddess Durga. So, on each day of Navratri different avatars of Goddess Durga is worshipped and her qualities celebrated with songs and dance. The festival that celebrates the defeat of Mahishasura by Goddess Durga signifies the victory of good over evil. In some parts of India, people observe fast during Navratri.
