Man Arrested in Break and Enter Investigation, Eglinton Avenue West and Dufferin Street area

The Toronto Police Service is making the public aware of an arrest made in a Break and Enter investigation.

In January 2026, 14 Division’s Major Crime Unit became involved in an investigation regarding several Commercial Break and Enters spanning across Toronto’s downtown area.

It is alleged that:

the accused would force entry into commercial businesses by damaging door locks
once inside, the accused would target cash registers and other valuables

David Correia, 49, of Toronto, has been arrested and charged with:

one count of Attempt to Commit Indictable Offence
15 counts of Break and Enter Commit
15 counts of Fail to Comply Release Order

He is scheduled to appear in court at the Toronto Regional Bail Centre, 2201 Finch Avenue West, on Saturday, February 28, 2026, at 10:00 a.m., in room 105.
