OTTAWA, ON , Aug. 14, 2024 /CNW/ – Hydro Ottawa is thrilled to announce its continued partnership with the Capital Fair to host Special Needs Day on Thursday, August 15, 2024 . This inclusive day offers a unique opportunity for families and individuals with special needs to enjoy a range of activities in a supportive and accommodating environment.
Since 2001, Hydro Ottawa has been a dedicated partner of Special Needs Day, helping to make it possible for children who might not otherwise be able to attend a fair to have one of their best days of the year. This year’s private event will offer a sensory-friendly environment with quieter and slower midway rides, a delicious BBQ lunch with ice cream, entertainment, and smaller crowds, ensuring a memorable and enjoyable day for all attendees.
What: Hydro Ottawa , Capital Fair and World’s Finest Shows Midway are hosting a private day at the fair, one day before it opens to the public, for children and adults with developmental and/or physical disabilities, along with their families and caregivers.
Why: The event offers a chance for guests to make lasting memories at the Capital Fair in a sensory friendly and accessible environment, and presents the opportunity to raise awareness about the importance of accessibility in our community.
When: Thursday, August 15, 2024 – 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.
Hydro Ottawa representatives available for interviews from 11:30 a.m. to 12:00 p.m.
Where: Capital Fairgrounds at Rideau Carleton Raceway – 4837 Albion Road, Ottawa, ON .
Free parking is available off Casino Barn Road (south side of the casino )
