Mercedes-Benz has officially introduced the all-new CLA Shooting Brake with EQ Technology, marking its first fully electric estate car. Following the recent debut of the CLA sedan, this new model adds expanded cargo capacity, elegant design, and advanced tech to the lineup. With a boot capacity ranging from 455 to 1,290 litres and an additional 101-litre frunk under the hood, the electric CLA Shooting Brake is designed for daily commutes, family holidays, and weekend getaways. It offers roof rails for sports equipment and a towing capacity of up to 1,800 kg. Range estimates top out at 761 km (WLTP) for the CLA 250+ version, which also supports rapid charging of 310 km in just 10 minutes.
The CLA Shooting Brake blends sporty styling with practicality, sharing its front-end design with the CLA sedan up to the B-pillar. Signature elements include a front grille embedded with 142 LED stars, sleek rear light strips, and a gradually sloping roofline with a full panoramic glass roof. This roof, optionally switchable between transparent and opaque, features ambient star lighting with 158 illuminated stars, creating a visually stunning night-time experience inside the cabin.
Interior updates focus on comfort, space, and tech innovation. Headroom and legroom have been expanded in both rows, and the cabin feels airy thanks to the coupe-like roofline and floating design elements. A new multifunction steering wheel revives tactile rollers and rockers for better control. The optional MBUX Superscreen includes up to three displays across the dash, offering infotainment, gaming, and streaming content supported by Unity’s real-time graphics engine. The system runs on Mercedes-Benz’s new MB.OS platform, which enables over-the-air updates and AI-powered voice commands via ChatGPT and Google Gemini.
Navigation is powered by Google Maps data but enhanced with Mercedes-Benz Electric Intelligence. The system optimizes routes based on battery status, weather, terrain, and charger availability, including automatic battery preconditioning for faster DC charging. The CLA 250+ and CLA 350 4MATIC both feature 85 kWh battery packs and support 800-volt charging architecture. The dual-speed transmission improves acceleration and efficiency, allowing the CLA 350 4MATIC to go from 0 to 100 km/h in 5 seconds flat.
Customers can also opt for a 48-volt mild hybrid variant launching in 2026. All models are based on Mercedes-Benz’s new Modular Architecture (MMA), which supports both electric and hybrid powertrains. Standard features include ARTICO upholstery, panoramic roof, digital displays, advanced climate control, ambient lighting, and the Mercedes-Benz MB.CHARGE Public service for seamless EV charging access across Europe. The CLA Shooting Brake aims to redefine compact luxury estates by delivering intelligent design, premium technology, and impressive electric performance in one striking package.
