A Mississauga man is one of two individuals facing charges after a protest at Toronto’s Union Station resulted in smoke filling the busy transit hub early on New Year’s Day.
Incident Details
Toronto Police reported that the incident occurred around 1:10 a.m. on January 1 when protesters discharged a smoke canister inside the station, raising safety concerns as smoke spread through the premises.
Arrests and Charges
Following an investigation, police arrested two men on Friday:
- Ahmad Hassan Hajahmad, 31, of Mississauga.
- Nabil Suheil Jalbout, 24, of Burlington.
Both men have been charged with mischief interfering with the lawful use of property. They are scheduled to appear in Toronto court on February 20.
