The Award winning and acclaimed Multi Disciplinary Arts festival, TD Mosaic Festival of Mississauga celebrates its 14th successful year with a focus on Music and Dance on August 9-10 at the Celebration Square Mississauga.
A Mississauga summer would not be complete without the Mosaic Festival, which is the longest running free festival in the City of Mississauga.
The TD Mosaic Festival 2019, is bigger and better than ever!
Mosaic Fest is the premiere arts and culture festival of Mississauga presenting the best in local as well as international South Asian and Fusion dance, music, art, cuisine and fashion and will be showcasing A list Bollywood and Coke Studio artists from South Asia, at the Celebration Square in Mississauga. The Outdoor segment of the Festival is held on the 09-10 of August, 2019.
The Festival will be hosted by the well known TV and film personalities of Juggan Kazim and Ali Kazmi who will bring the event together for the audience.
The impressive line up of artists includes the most renowned and popular South Indian name in music, Grammy Winning ,Vijay Prakash from India.
Headlining on Friday is the incredibly talented singer Ali Sethi, whose brilliant performances in Coke studio Pakistan, and other independent videos and television serials make him one of the most sought after musicians in South Asia.
Headlining on Saturday 10th August ,the Festival is honoured to present for the first time in Canada, world’s largest Music School Berklee Collage of Music Indian Ensemble from Boston US, featuring Vijay Prakash.
A beautiful array of special appearances by local and international talents will enhance a cultural experience that our audience have come to expect from the festival. The roster includes Irshad Khan a master sitar maestro , Panwar Music and Dance Productions, and many first time performers.
A Special feature includes the biggest block buster film artists from the Pakistani and Indian film industries such as Mahira Khan, Bilal Ashraf and Ali Kazmi who are making a special appearance to promote their upcoming film Super Star with HUM films.
An annual highlight of the festival is the wide variety of highly acclaimed dance performances, including modern, Bollywood, and classical. As always, audiences can expect the highest quality of Bollywood dancing with the Shiamak Davar Toronto Dance team. With over 40 dancers, the team will be choreographed by the maestro himself, will take over the stage to perform their newest productions with the latest Bollywood numbers and moves.
We are pleased to welcome the CEO of the organization Glenn D’mello this year as he choreographs and oversees the spectacular dance extravaganza that will close the 2019 stage with a power packed performance for the 14th consecutive year.
The TD Mosaic Festival 2019 will be featuring a fine selection of visual arts projects, dance performances, and three full-length concerts with international, national, and local singing and talents.
In collaboration with the Canadian National Exhibition, the Mosaic Festival will present young painting artist Niam Jain,who inspite of being dyslexic and having speech impairment, has overcome these challenges to evolve into an exceptional artist. Niam will paint one of the fiber glass Racoons, later to be displayed at the CNE 2019. Children’s clay and pottery wheel workshops will be conducted by Ishrat Suhrvardi and a Children painting and arts workshops will take place at the Square. All workshops start from 2 pm till 6 pm.
Over 120 artists will perform for our organization this year.
As always there will be a line up of delicious local and international foods and the unique shopping experiences include Special Mehndi booths as well as clothing and jewelery pavilions to bring the traditional experiences of South Asia.
The festival’s special collaboration with The Jaipur Literary Festival Toronto (JLFToronto) and the Royal Ontario Museum will result in a talk with world reknowned writer, William Dalrymple on 30 September at The ROM. Visitors to the festival will be able to get special book marks for their collection from our volunteer pavilion.
Rock the Coliseum, the independent music festival, brings together the best of local indie talent in an event that, over the years, has seen performances by several local bands and artists that have become national and international success . A free, all-ages festival, RTC is organized by the youth for the youth led by the festival director , Demitrius Nath of Mississauga Music. Mr.Nath has been a part of the Mississauga Music scene for a long time and has been recognized by his peers for his support to musicians and arts community.
The festival takes place on the 9 and 10h of August 2019 at the North Celebration Square Amphitheatre area from 3-11 pm both days.
MISAFF;Mosaic International South Asian Film Festival , is the only film festival of Mississauga that brings world lass Independent films to the udience of Mississauga . This year the festival takes place on 1-4 August at the Cineplex Rathburn road. Festival program and tickets are available at the website.
Canadian Community Arts Initiative, a registered non-profit group organizes Mosaic Festival. CCAI is governed by a volunteer board of directors and develops its projects under the guidance of the Artistic Director. In the last 14 years, the organization has established 3 major multidisciplinary arts events These events include the Mosaic Outdoor Festival, Rock the Coliseum – an independent music festival – and Mosaic International South Asian Film Festival or MISAFF among others.
