Mississauga, 21 June- New park in Mississauga, Fairwinds Park which was opened last week, adjacent to the new Fire Station 120, Eglinton Avenue West. The community celebration at Fairwinds Park include a number of activities, such as a live pirate show, War of 1812 re-enactment and treats.
The park boasts: An adventure playground featuring a pirate ship; Tennis courts; Basketball court; Public art; Stormwater management features and Existing wetland.
Mayor Bonnie Crombie said: “Delighted to officially open Fairwinds Park. Tons of green space for our residents to enjoy and best of all, a pirate ship playground! Thanks to Mississauga Recreation, Parks & Forestry and Environment! or their hard work designing and building this wonderful place to relax and play.”
Iqwinder Gaheer, MP for Mississauga-Malton said: “Green spaces have become places of refuge during the pandemic and are also vital to our environment.” Also present for the openingg were Carolyn Parish, Mississauga/Peel Councillor Ward 5, Councillor Jon Kovac and Fire Chief Deryn Rizzi.
