Ontario announces financial support for employers coping with pandemic

Ontario Labour Minister Monte McNaughton announces Ontario’s Workplace Safety Insurance Board is reducing 2022 premium rates by $168 million. The province plans to introduce legislation that would allow a large portion of WSIB’s cash reserve to be given to employers coping with the impacts from COVID-19. The ceiling for workers’ benefits will increase to 9.45 per cent. Minister McNaughton is joined by Heidi VanderKwaak, owner of Doughnut Monster.
