In a recent incident involving Pakistan International Airlines (PIA), a flight attendant was apprehended by Canadian immigration authorities upon arrival in Toronto from Lahore on March 28. Reports indicate that the attendant, a female, was found in possession of multiple passports belonging to different individuals.

According to Pakistan news channel ARY News, the flight attendant was arrested after immigration officials discovered the passports during a routine inspection of her luggage. This comes after the attendant had reportedly been previously warned about carrying prohibited items into Canada.

The incident adds to a series of disappearances involving PIA flight attendants during layovers in Toronto, with some seeking asylum in Canada. Just a month prior, another PIA crew member left her uniform and a note in a Toronto hotel room before vanishing. This marks the latest in a string of similar incidents dating back to at least 2018.

PIA has faced financial and credibility challenges in recent years, compounded by a deadly crash in 2020. In response to the disappearances, the airline has implemented stricter measures to monitor its employees during layovers, including setting age limits for flight attendants and enhancing communication protocols.

The arrest underscores ongoing concerns about security and compliance within the airline industry, prompting authorities to take proactive measures to address potential risks and ensure passenger safety.
