Arrest made in a Fail to Remain Collision Involving Pedestrian
Region of Peel – Investigators from the Major Collision Bureau have arrested and charged a 72-year-old man in relation to a serious fail to remain collision.
On Friday, November 8, 2024, at approximately 5:25 p.m., the victim, an 80-year-old man was crossing midblock on Creditview Road south of Eglinton Avenue West in the city of Mississauga when he was struck by a white SUV. The driver of the SUV stopped briefly and then fled the scene in the vehicle. The victim was transported to a trauma center with serious injuries as a result of the collision.
Through the course of a thorough investigation, the suspect vehicle and driver were identified.
On Tuesday, December 3, 2024, investigators from the Major Collision Bureau arrested Theodoros Diamantouros, a 72-year-old man from Mississauga who was charged with the following criminal offence:
Failure to Stop After Accident Resulting in Bodily Harm
He is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Brampton at a later date.
