Arrest Made in Human Trafficking Investigation
Region of Peel – Investigators from the Peel Regional Police Specialized Enforcement Bureau – Vice have arrested and charged a man concerning a sex-trafficking investigation of a female under 18 years old in the Greater Toronto Area.
Police allege the suspect exercised control over numerous aspects of the victim’s life and forced her to perform sex while profiting from it.
Mohammed Karim Mohammed, a 31-year-old man from Hamilton, Ontario was charged with the following:
Trafficking Persons Under 18 years old, Section 279.011 (1) CC Receive Benefit from Trafficking, Section 279.02 CC Communicate for Sexual Service, Section 286.1(1) CC Material Benefit Sex Services, Section 286.2(2) CC Procuring Person Under 18 years old, Section 286.3(2) CC Householder Permit Sexual Activity, Section 171 CC Assault Bodily Harm, Section 267 CC Assault with Weapon, Section 267 CC Mohammed was held for a bail hearing and attended the Ontario Court of Justice in Brampton.
