Arrest Made in Human Trafficking Investigation

Region of Peel  – Investigators from the Peel Regional Police Specialized Enforcement Bureau – Vice have arrested and charged a man in relation to a sex trafficking investigation in Peel Region. 

In May 2024, officers investigated a report of a woman being allegedly trafficked by the suspect over a period of time.  The suspect created online advertisements, exercised control over aspects of the victim’s life, and profited financially from it.

After an investigation, William Wylie, a 40-year-old man from Mississauga was arrested and charged with the following criminal offences: 

Human Trafficking Receiving Material Benefit Derive Material Benefit Procuring Exercise Control   

William Wylie was held in custody for a bail hearing.
