Arrest Made in Sex Trafficking Related Investigation
Region of Peel –Investigators from the Specialized Enforcement Bureau – Vice Unit have arrested and charged a male concerning sex trafficking offences in relation to a female in the Greater Toronto Area.
It is alleged that the accused exploited the victim in the sex trade for profit by exercising control over numerous aspects of her life.
Jahmal Paquette, a 23-year-old from Brampton, was charged with the following:
Assault – Female Over 17
Utter Threat to Cause Death (X4)
Procuring (X2)
Exercise Control
Fail to Comply with Release Order (X2)
Paquette was held for a bail hearing and attended the Ontario Court of Justice in Brampton.
Investigators believe there may be additional victims, particularly in the Greater Toronto Area, and are encouraging them to contact them at 905-453-2121, extension 3555.
