Arrest of Sexual Assault Suspect
Region of Peel – Investigators from the Special Victims Unit arrested a man in relation to a sexual assault investigation.
On Tuesday, July 30, 2024, between 3:45 p.m. and 4:45 p.m., the victim, an adult female, was walking along the Chinguacousy Trail, near Central Park Drive in the City of Brampton, when she noticed that she was being followed by the suspect. The victim confronted the suspect who then allegedly sexually assaulted the victim before leaving the area. The victim did not sustain any physical injuries.
On Tuesday, August 6, 2024, investigators identified and charged Adrian Ward, a 29-year-old man from Brampton with the following:
Sexual Assault He was released with conditions and is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Brampton at a later date.
