Results of continued Road Safety Enforcement in the Ridgeway Plaza area
Region of Peel – Officers from 11 Division Uniform Patrol, Community Incident Response Team, Road Safety Services, Safer Roads Team, and Aerial Support Unit, along with City of Mississauga By-Law officers, continued the Community Safety Enforcement Project, laying nearly 280 driving-related charges and seizing multiple vehicles in the area of Ridgeway Plaza in Mississauga.
Throughout the weekend, officers laid the following charges:
248 Highway Traffic Act, Part 1 Charges (i.e. speeding, unnecessary muffler noise, illegal tinted windows) 22 Highway Traffic Act, Part 3 Summons (i.e. stunt driving, street racing) Five Vehicles seized One Trespass to Property Act Four License Suspensions Three Provincial Offence Act charges Six Criminal Code charges One Stolen Recovered Vehicle This is the second weekend this month of conducting strategic enforcement to ensure road safety in the surrounding areas of the Ridgeway Plaza in Mississauga. Thank you to all our officers and the City of Mississauga partners for their continued commitment to this work.
Peel Regional Police continues to remind drivers that there is no excuse and there will be no tolerance for street racing, stunt driving, excessive speed or unnecessary noise from vehicles. Beyond the penalties, this type of behaviour puts everyone on our roads at risk. We will continue dedicating officers to identify, locate, and actively enforce traffic laws within Peel Region.
