Ontario Provincial Police have announced a temporary no-fly zone over TPC Toronto at Osprey Valley in Caledon, ahead of this year’s RBC Canadian Open golf tournament. The restriction will be enforced daily from 10 a.m. to 11:59 p.m., starting June 4 and running through June 8.
According to a police statement, any unauthorized use of drones or unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) during the event will be strictly prohibited. The measure is intended to ensure the safety and privacy of players, spectators, and event organizers during the high-profile competition.
This year’s tournament will see a strong field, including ten of the top 33 golfers in the world. Defending champion Robert McIntyre and World No. 2 Rory McIlroy, a two-time RBC Canadian Open winner, are among the international stars competing. Canadian fans will also be cheering for Nick Taylor, who previously claimed victory at the event in 2023, alongside 20 other Canadian entrants.
TPC Toronto at Osprey Valley is hosting the national championship for the first time, marking a major milestone for the Caledon golf course. Full coverage of the tournament, including player interviews and live action, will be broadcast by TSN throughout the week.
