A Brampton resident is facing multiple charges after Hamilton police linked him to a series of alleged break-and-enter incidents on the city’s east mountain.
Police say the investigation advanced after a community member came forward with information on February 27. According to authorities, the tip enabled officers to track down and arrest the suspect without incident.
Jose De Guzman, 46, of Brampton, has been charged with two counts of break and enter to commit theft, along with two counts of failing to comply with probation conditions.
Investigators stated that at the time of his arrest, De Guzman was not previously known to the Hamilton Police Service.
Police have also recovered property believed to have been stolen during the alleged incidents. Images of the recovered items have been released as officers work to identify the rightful owners. Anyone who recognizes the property or believes it may belong to them is encouraged to contact investigators.
