Two people have been killed and two others are injured following an overnight shooting in Stratford, Ontario. The incident occurred around 10:45 p.m. on Thursday in the area of Bradshaw Drive and McCarthy Road West.
Stratford police received multiple 911 calls reporting gunshots. Upon arrival, officers found four individuals with gunshot wounds. One person was pronounced dead at the scene, and another succumbed to their injuries at the hospital.
The two surviving victims were airlifted to Victoria Hospital in London by ORNGE air ambulance after receiving initial treatment from paramedics at the scene. One of the injured individuals is reported to have life-threatening injuries, while the other has life-altering injuries.
“An area along Bradshaw Drive will be closed throughout the day for the investigation and officers will be canvassing the area for video and witness information,” police stated in a media release.
No arrests have been made, but police assured that there is no ongoing threat to public safety.
